Martlesham Heath Pavilion
Martlesham Heath Pavilion is air-conditioned, has its own AV facilities, and is available for hire between 9 am and 11 pm. We accept bookings from both regular users for clubs and other activities, and also one-off bookings for children's parties, meetings and similar events. We will not accept bookings for 18th and 21st birthday parties, nor for parties for older children that are not fully supervised by responsible adults. Discos are only permitted for under-12s and must end by 9pm.
The current hiring rate for a children’s party of up to four hours is £25.20. Additional hours and other types of bookings normally cost £6.30/hour. At the Pavilion Management Committee’s discretion, a discounted rate may be offered e.g. for individuals organising classes or activities for the local community on a non-commercial basis. The Booking Secretary will advise which rate is applicable. Hiring rates are reviewed every September and adjusted in line with inflation.
Please note that the Pavilion objective is to provide affordable community meeting facilities and therefore it does not include cleaning services after each booking. Hirers are required to ensure that the Pavilion is left in good condition for the following user, and must carry out the cleaning and security procedures on our checklist before leaving (see Conditions of Hire).
A deposit of at least £50 is required for all one-off bookings and may be required for other bookings as specified by the Management Committee. This will be used to pay for any extra cleaning required and/or damage, although please note that liability for these is not limited to £50.
Deposit cheques are not normally returned to hirers; they are shredded after inspection of the premises. You will normally be notified within 7 days if there is to be any retention of the deposit. If you wish your deposit cheque to be returned, please include an extra 50p with your hiring fee to cover the cost.
