Virgin cable TV system shutdown
It has been brought to our attention that the cable TV system which has, for many years, supplied basic analogue television reception to properties on Martlesham Heath Village has now been switched off by the service provider, Virgin.
Residents who, to date, have been reliant on this system for receiving TV at their property will now need to consider the installation of their own TV aerial, or a satellite based digital TV solution for continued reception.
For further advice and prompt assistance please call Bayfields Digital - we are your local CAI approved TV reception specialists, and have been established in the Woodbridge area for 34 years!
Our phone number is 01728 745745 or you can email us at:

Thank you for your offer, but the system has been turned back on again, and I understand that it is not due to be turned off for another eighteen months, which is when the Sudbury transmitter is due to be turned off.

Thanks for making us aware fo that Mike. While that's great news for everyone who is currently reliant on the cable system for their TV, this is only a short term reprieve and we would strongly recommend that users look to finding an alternative TV reception solution.
Both Freeview (digital via an aerial) and BBC Freesat (digital via a dish) are available in this area. Sky is also another option, but involves a monthly subscription.
The digital switchover in this area takes place in June 2011, and the Virgin cable system will now continue operation until then. We strongly advise making the change to digital now, however, to avoid the possible loss of service later on.
Anyone requiring further advice is quite welcome to call me on 01728 745745.
Thanks,
Chris Bayfield
